Dr. Momo and a Big Boy Bed

Here is Toby getting his regular check up.

Dr. Momo reports he is all healthy!

Milo got a big boy bed!
We got Milo a new big boy bed (can you believe I found this bed on KSL for $10?!) I was planning on painting it but Milo wanted to keep it red. We have been talking to Milo for a while now trying to get him excited about sleeping in a big boy bed. He has been in ours for WAY too long, plus we are going to need the crib soon.We took Milo with us and bought him a new mattress. When we got home we set up his new bed with Toy Story bedding he got for Christmas from Grandma and Grandpa Finch. He was so excited to sleep in his new big boy bed. We got all ready for bed and Milo got in and said, "Mom, I'm so happy!" It was the cutest thing ever.
The lighting in this picture is not so great but his smile was so funny.

Milo helped me make the bed the next morning. He placed all his blankets along the bottom of the bed.

All his toys tucked in for the night.

Easter

This is an old pic. But I had to put it on the blog.

This year for Easter we had breakfast at the Jolley's on Saturday morning and then had an egg hunt for all of the kids. Milo had so much fun this Easter. He loved coloring eggs and finding all of the candy at the egg hunt.

Milo loved coloring eggs. He was big enough this year to get it and did a really good job.
And we managed to only spill one cup of dye :)

All the grandkids with their loot.

A little update: We are having a baby!
I am 14 weeks pregnant and am due on Oct. 20th. We are excited for a new little one. I'm not sure if Milo fully understands yet but he knows there is a baby in mom's tummy. I'm glad to be in the second trimester and hope to start feeling a lot better soon.
I just had my last finals and will be completely done with school after this week. YAY!

Close Call

On Sunday Cody and his friend Scott decided to go backcountry skiing. Because of the conditions they decided to go up Big Springs Canyon in Provo Canyon. They thought that because this area isn't particularly steep it would be safer. About 3 miles past the parking lot they heard a faint boom and thought that maybe Sundance was doing avalanche control. As they were traversing across the hillside a minute later Cody heard Scott say "Oh crap!" Cody turned to see what was wrong and was hit by a wall of snow. He was carried 300 feet through tree's and branches, cartwheeling out of control. When the snow finally stopped he said it felt like he was trapped in cement. Luckily his friend, Scott, was able to wrap himself around a tree and prevent himself from being carried away in the avalanche. When the avalanche stopped Scott pulled out his beacon and started looking for Cody. They figure that it took 7-8 minutes for Scott to locate him using his beacon. Meanwhile Cody figured Scott was also buried and they both were dead. After a few minutes Cody passed out. Scott was able to dig Cody out, his head was about 4-5 feet below the snow, and luckily nothing was broken. Needless to say Cody is very sore and shaken up by the whole incident. According to the Utah Avalanche website 31 people have been completely buried in recent years and only 6 including Cody have survived. We are so very thankful that Cody is okay. There is no doubt in my mind that someone was watching out for him that day.

These pictures came from the Utah Avalanche website. They went up after the avalanche was reported and took these photo's.

Christmas (finally)

We had such a fun Christmas this year. Milo loved the whole idea of Christmas. He loved the lights, the tree's, Santa, presents, parties and everything else. Milo would put on his Santa hat and tell us to sing Jingle Bell's, he would then walk in the room saying "Ho,Ho,Ho Merry Christmas." He would then climb on our laps and ask us what we wanted for Christmas. He also loved wrapping his toys in blankets and bringing them to us to open. The only thing Milo asked for from Santa was a "baby Ironman", so he was happy on Christmas when he got it.

Milo, Lola and Fisher Christmas Eve
Milo loved "wrapping presents" and putting them under the tree. All month long he would wrap up one of his toys and bring them to Cody and I.
He also loved to pretend to be Santa.
Building a snowman with Daddy. I can't believe I didn't get a picture of their final product it was so cute.

Buzz Lightyear getting pulled on the sled, Christmas Eve day.

Milo's gift from his cousin. He loved it!

New cowboy outfit from Grandma and Grandpa.
Christmas Eve all tuckered out, sleeping with his new Woody.

Milo and "Baby Ironman" the only thing he asked Santa for.
Milo and Aunt Arian with the new ski's she gave him. We can't wait to get out and use them!

This kid

(Sneak peek from our photo shoot with the oh so talented Kenzie Scott)

This kid has the BEST imagination. It is rare that he is himself.
It's usually, "No, I'm Ironman." or Batman, Superman, Buzz Lightyear or Woody.
He also loves to pretend to be a dog, horse, dinosaur, or dragon.
His Halloween costume was worth every penny because he wears it almost daily.
When he pretends he gets into the character. At Halloween he referred to Cody and I as Jesse and Woody the entire night.
This morning he decided he was Fisher. All morning long he said, "I'm Fisher." and talked about himself in the third person. "Fisher wants to watch a movie. Fisher wants dinosaur nuggets." And of course I couldn't be mommy anymore because I'm not Fisher's mommy, so he called me Emily as long as the game continued. "Hey Emily, Fisher wants to play on the computer. Hey Emily, can you help me, I'm Fisher."
When he decides the game is over he will say, "No I not Fisher, I Momo J Finch."
Until he is ready to pretend again.
Love this kid.
